Overview
Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh (HIAL) is conducting the 5th edition of its education confluence:
3R to 3H to 3A, The Next Learning Revolution, from May 23rd - 29th, 2026, in Phyang, Leh, Ladakh.
It is called a confluence, not a conference, because it is a meeting of minds of the world’s leading and
disruptive educationists to collectively share, discuss, and brainstorm the School and University education of the future,
which is “Contextual, Trans-disciplinary & Experiential,” in line with NEP 2020.
To be nestled in the surreal scenic beauty of Ladakh at the celebrated SECMOL Alternative school, newly established HIAL campus and several other educational and beautiful locales, the conference will host a stellar community of educators from the length and breadth of the country. Keynotes and coffee table discussions will bring to focus learning by doing, collaborative education, trans-disciplinary learning and holistic and spiritual education in School and Higher Education.

Theme and Scope of the Conference
HIAL promotes a paradigm shift from the 3 Rs of Reading, wRiting and aRithmetic through the 3 Hs: bright Head, kind Heart and skilled Hands to the 3As, Adhibhuta, Adhidaiva, and Adhyatma in line with and beyond NEP 2020. We conduct this education confluence every year to re-imagine the education of the future and brainstorm the practical implementation possibilities of NEP 2020 with experienced educationists from around the world.
Based on HIAL’s 5 pillars of education of the future, the confluence will be curated around contextual curriculum, experiential pedagogy, trans-disciplinary approach to problem-solving, inculcating higher order thinking and deeper order feeling and moving from 3R to 3H to 3A for the future. Over five days, experts will share experiences, exchange ideas, expand networks and find inspiration.
In addition to world-class keynotes, the conference will employ the World Cafe Format, where every voice is heard, and every thought is respected. Participants will visit scenic locations in Ladakh and the SECMOL Alternative School Campus to experience alternative learning in practice.
Programme Fees
- Double Occupancy: ₹50,400 per partcipant (inclusive of GST)
