Shara Winter Camp to HIAL

It was our sheer delight to welcome a #diverse group of students – class 1 to class 12 – from Shara Winter Camp to the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh. Their visit focused on learning about our educational philosophy, passive solar-heated buildings, and contextual learning.
The students had an interactive session with Mr. Rahul Krishna (President- Culture) who briefed them about HIAL’s philosophy, vision, and mission. He further encouraged the students to solve problems using the 3Hs: Bright Head, Kind Heart, and Skilled Hands” instead of solving them with the conventional 3Rs (Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic)

Following this, the students were given a thorough campus tour by Ms. Dechen Spalzes (Academics Facilitator), Ms. Shweta Sharma (Energy Intern), Ms. Nitika Negi (Junior Architect), and Ms. Tsering Yangzes (Content Writer).
Our campus came alive with these young hearts and minds visiting us on a cold winter afternoon
