Solar Home For Jawans

Today On Kargil Vijay Diwas a fully Solar Heated home was dedicated to our soldiers at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass.

The solar home was supported by Lokmat Foundation. It was designed by HIAL (Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh) and built by HIAL’S enterprise arm, Shesyon Innovations Pvt. Ltd. It is specially designed for the minus 30 winters of Drass.

Shri Vijay Darda (Chairman, Lokmat), Shri Rajendra Darda (Editor-in-chief) inaugurated the building in presence of Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta Commander, 14 Corps), Major General Nagendra Singh and Mr. Tanmay Mukherji (COO, HIAL)

HIAL believes that large scale adoption of Solar Heated buildings by the Indian army will notbonly help our jawans but also help us speedily achieve our prime minister’s vision of Carbon Neutral Ladakh.
